2007 Statewide Public Service Day
Sponsored by the TBA Young Lawyers Division

Each year in conjunction with Law Day, lawyers across the state participate in projects designed to serve the public. Many of this year's projects reflect the TBA Young Lawyers Division's commitment to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). Following is a list of each district's public service project for this year. Please contact the district representative in your area for more details and information about participating in these events.

District 1

Hosting "Arts for Advocacy" -- a fundraiser and open house event to benefit Safe Harbor, a new local child advocacy center, on May 3.

Planning a celebrity bartending fundraiser at Preservation Pub to benefit CASA of East Tennessee on May 9.

Coordinating an items drive from April 23-27 to benefit Families in Crisis, a domestic violence shelter that serves Warren, Grundy, and Sequatchie counties.

District 8

Coordinating a free legal clinic for low income and/or elderly citizens on April 28 at Hearthside at Castle Heights, a local non-profit assisted living center.

District 9

Preparing a meal at the Salvation Army Disaster Canteen and delivering it to homeless in Nashville on May 18 from 5-9 p.m.

District 10
